26 August Photo Editing Made EasyIf you want to edit photos quickly without having to shell out a fortune, try Picasa. Picasa 2 is a free and now owned by Google program that allows the user to easily organize their photos and videos and edit photos accordingly. Just double click on a photo in your library and tune everything from lighting to black and white effects to the ever popular sepia tone. My favorite tuning option is the focus black and white option. This option acts like a "color" magnifying glass for pictures. You can even sharpen the area you have added color to and adjust the area you are tuning as well using simple "sliders". Give Picasa's picture tuning a try but be sure not to save over an original file because you won't be able to go back. 25 August HD Gaming and Me...I love gaming in High Definition (HD). And I don't just mean HD video, I also mean HD audio. I love playing video games in high definition or HD. The picture looks great compared to SD or standard definition television. And probably the most overlooked aspect of HD gaming is the audio quality. The first day I picked up my Xbox 360 and brought it home to my HD setup and played Call of Duty 2 all the way through to the end I was hooked. Once I heard the games' gunshots coming from all directions in 5.1 surround sound, I knew there was no turning back. I know that it's not just the graphics and the sound of a game that matter the most and of course gameplay and whether or not the game is fun or not is probably the most important feature of all, but I just can't see myself going back to the "old school" way of playing games. Video games will always be fun to me-atleast the ones I like. And playing them on any setup is definitely okay in my book. But if you get a chance to hook up a 360 to an HD set whether it be a CRT, LCD or Plasma, you won't ever want to go back. 13 August Microsoft releases Windows Live Writer (beta)Windows Live Writer is essentially a tool that a blogger can use to better edit his or her blog or space etc... You can easily browse for pictures to spruce up your blogposts and make them more attractive and hopefully resulting in more traffic through your site. Writer also includes basic features such as a spell checker which seems to be the handiest tool of all and maybe most interesting of all is the ability to insert a map. Maps can be used for various things such as a way to keep track of friends or maybe even a way to direct visitors and friends to a particular event or social gathering. So far Windows Live Writer looks great with tons a features yet to be discovered. In the mean time give the beta a try. Go to Microsoft.com and search for Windows Live Writer. |
